Mr. Billy Ray Austin, age 65, of 400 Blassingame Street, Union, SC, widower of Carrie Inman Austin died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Austin was born in Union, SC August 15, 1941, a son of the late Nellie Katie Austin Todd.
He retired from United Merchants-Buffalo Plant and Conso and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors are; two daughters: Linda Jolly and husband Olin and Polly Reasoner and husband Dale all of Union, four sons: Tom Martin, David Martin and wife Faye all of Buffalo, Sam Martin and wife Penny, Jimmy Martin and wife Cheryl all of Union, three brothers: W.S. Austin, George Austin and wife Sherry and Fred Austin all of Union, two sisters: Josephine Todd and Lula Fowler both of Union, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2006 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Jerry Ford and Rev. Larry Padgett. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Tommy Reasoner, Jamie Martin, Tim Martin, Josh Woods, Kerry Woods, Wayne Kershan, Josh Ochiltree and Shannon Austin.
The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
