Keith Ramon Arnold, 78, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Jerseyville Manor. He was born September 15, 1933 to the late Ewell and Blanche (Dawdy) Arnold. He graduated from Jacksonville High School and worked many years farming and raising Black Angus cattle. In later years, he worked at ACBL Barge Line in St. Louis as a crane operator and retired from there. He married his sweetheart of 48 years, Marilyn (Hubbard) Arnold on November 23, 1963 in Jacksonville, IL. She survives. He was a member and deacon at the Bunker Hill Baptist Church. He helped start 3 mission churches. He loved his Lord and his work as a Sunday school superintendant, Sunday school teacher and deacon. He and his family started and named Lincoln Avenue Church in Jacksonville, IL. He was blessed with six children, David of Alton, Douglas (Shirlene) of Brighton, Lauri of Fort Worth, TX, Dale, who preceded him in death, Kelly Rae, who preceded him in death, and an infant Darin William, who preceded him in death, two grandchildren, Shane and Jessica, and a very special friend, Kenneth Retzer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Allen Richards and an infant brother, Dale Ivan. He loved, raised, and sold Cocker Spaniel puppies for 44 years. He enjoyed antique collecting especially bells, all sizes, buttons, cups and John Deer items. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Reverend Darrell Molen will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bunker Hill Baptist Church, the Neutropenia Research foundation, the Alzheimer's Association or the American Humane Society.
