Services for Billy Joe Armstrong, 57, Lexington, formerly of Hopkinsville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

He died of an apparent heart- attack Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in Columbus, Ohio, where he was working.

A native of Trigg County, he was born April 2, 1945, the son of the late William Joseph and Earline Cobb Armstrong.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Shaw Enviromental Services, was an Army veteran, and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Cansler Armstrong; a son, Stephen Mark Armstrong, Lexington; a daughter, Jennifer L. Hamilton, Owensboro; two sister, Mrs. Jack (Christy) Tinsley, and Mattie Bagby, both of Hopkinsville.
