Donald G. Anthony, 81, 717 Valley Drive, died March 1, 1997, at Community Hospital Extended Care after an extended illness.

Born Feb. 22, 1916, in Anderson, he lived in the Anderson area most of his life and 10 years in Brookville, IN. He retired from Delco Remy after 45 years of employment.

He was a member of Goodwin Memorial Church of the Nazarene and United Auto Workers Local 662. He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary M. (Perkins) Anthony; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Pat Anthony and Jim and Judy Anthony, all of Anderson; three daughters, Ruth Ann Miller of Spencer, Mary White of Anderson, and Laura J. Anthony of Anderson; sister, Norma Vasbinder of Anderson; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden E. Anthony Sr. and Alma V.(Lackey) Anthony; brother Alden E. Anthony Jr.; two sisters, Ellen Fisher and Evelyn Finney; and daughter, Neshia Marie Anthony.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 3615 Raible Ave with the Revs. John Scott and Sherrie Keely officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
