For more tan fifty years he was a resident of Flat Rock and had operated a hardware store there until thirty years ago and had since worked on his farms.
He was born October 9, 1854, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Almeroth, near Osgood, Ripley County, being at the time of death 78 years, six months and three days old.
He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Homfred, who preceded him in death in October, 1922.
To this union four children were born of whom three daughters survive, Mrs. Robert Caldwell of Little Rock, Arkansas; Mrs. Harry Shafer of Jackson, Tenn., and Mrs. Roy Nading of Flat Rock.
He also leaves one grandson, Leonard Shafer of Jackson, Tenn., several nieces and nephews, one sister, Mrs. C.H. Kolling of Chatman, Kansas.
Mr. Almeroth was confirmed into the German Lutheran Church April 5, 1868 of which he had retained his membership up to the time of death.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church in Flat Rock, Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock with the Rev. Mr. Davis officiating.
Interment will be held in the family lot in Flat Rock Cemetery in charge of C.F. Fix & Son funeral directors.
Friends may call at the late home in Flat Rock any time up until the hour of the funeral.
