Leesville - Mrs. Murtice Adams Long, 91, of Route 5, widow of Belton A. Long, died Monday. Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Sallie Winningham Adams. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, the WMU, Happy Face Senior Citizens Club and the Adult Sunday School Class. Surviving are sons, W. D. Long of Batesburg and Edward Long of Leesville; daughters, Mrs. Comella Cockrell of Monetta, Mrs. Vasco (Nadie) Kyzer of Gilbert, Mrs. Richard (Lorine) Gentry of Saluda and Mrs. Thurman (Edith) Smith, Mrs. Violet Miller and Mrs. Erola Ricard of Leesville; a brother, Nolan Adams of Graniteville; sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Adams and Mrs. Nettie Cockrell of Aiken and Mrs. Verna Fallaw of West Columbia; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Johnny Muller, the Rev. L. H. Elliott and the Rev. Roscoe Bryant. Pallbearers will be Ray and Paul Cockrell, Harold Miller, James and Russell Long, Earl Gentry, Tony Smith and David Kizer. Memorials may be made to First Calvary Baptist Church or Deanes Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Smith, 1245 Ray Price Road, Leesville, and will receive friend from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Milton Shealy Funeral Home of Batesburg. © The State, Columbia, SC, 7 Apr 1987
