MRS. DOROTHY MARIE ELDER, 67, of Highland Drive, Lebanon, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 1978, at Mary Immaculate Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Burke and Nancy Raley Abell. Survivors include her husband, Bert Elder; two daughters, Mrs. Lucretia Thomas, and Mrs. Susan Lee, both of Lexington; two sons, Randall Elder of Lebanon and Larry Elder of Loretto; three brothers, George Abell of Louisville, Ernest Abell of Covington, Ky., and Hubert Abell of Louisville, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Grace Mattingly, Mrs. Angie Morris, and Mrs. Nancy Jean Smith all of Louisville; and 12 grandchildren. The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 1978, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in St. Charles Catholic Church Cemetery. Rev. Austin Caldwell, Rev. Roger Boehmicke, and Rev. Henry Knopp officiated. Active pallbearers were Len Morris, Tommy Smith, Jimmy Elder, Paul Elder, Jr. and Richard H. Elder. Honorary pallbearers were Bernard Ryan, Ed O'Daniel, Cary Peterson, Jerry Spalding, Raymond Higdon, and George DeNardi. Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
