Martha was the daughter of Harvey Green Moser and Lucinda Taylor Moser. She married Peter Sampson Braswell 17 Jan 1864 in Dekalb Co., TN.. They had eight children: William Augustus, Amy Caldonia, Permelia, Cora Bell, Phocian Dewitt, Eliz Ella, Matthew Allen and Zollie Thomas Braswell.

Mrs. Martha Braswell died last Saturday at the home of her son Phocian Braswell, a few miles west of Smithville, at the age of 86 years. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Cross Roads Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. R. L. (Whitlock). Mrs. Braswell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Vickers, and Mrs. Landy Curtis and four sons, M. A., Zollie, Gus and Phocian Braswell.
