Francis L. (Sam) Allen, 81, of Booneville died of a stroke Feb. 22, 1996 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were Feb. 25 at the Booneville United Methodist Church with burial at the Booneville Cemetery.
He was born March 21, 1914 in Dallas County to Robert and Dora Allen. He married Dora E. Harvey in Des Moines on March 22, 1937. He was a lifelong resident of Dallas County and was a retired rural mail carrier in the Booneville/Van Meter area. He also farmed in the Booneville/Waukee area.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one daughter, Vicki Kress and husband Jim of Earlham; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
