THE FUNERAL OF MR. BEN NUCKOLS last Thursday was attended by an immense crowd of people. He was born and reared and spent nearly all his life within three miles of this place and was highly respected by all his neighbors and friends. It was rather an unusual scene to see eight stalwart men, all heads of families, some grandfathers, and one daughter, also the mother of a large family, with their wives and husbands crowd around his bier to view his features the last time. Each one was an excellent citizen - a noble monument to give the world. A good man went across the river of time when Mr. Nuckols left us.

"Mr. B. K. Nuckols, age 78 years, died at his home here yesterday morning at ten o'clock. Death was caused by heart failure.

"Surviving are his widow and nine children: Mrs. Lou Matthews, of Morrison Park; Messrs. John Nuckols, of Temple Hill; Sid Nuckols, of Morrison Park, George Nuckols, of Boyd's Creek; Joe Nuckols, Levy Nuckols, all of this place; Spurgeon Nuckols, of Temple Hill; Jim Nuckols, of Finney. One sister, Miss Sallie Nuckols, of Glasgow, also survive.

"Mr. Nuckols was a member of the Baptist church, and no finer man ever lived. He was loved and esteemed by everybody, and was the personification of honesty, fairness and truthfulness. It is, indeed, with sorrow that we report his death.

"He was a true, loyal friend, and will be missed by all his associates more than words can tell.
