Atkins, Rankin B., age 84, of Madisonville, went to be with the Lord 2:20 A.M. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his home. Member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 54 years. Member of Tellico Masonic Lodge #80 F & AM for 63 years and a member of Kerbela Shrine Temple, Knoxville. Veteran of Korean War serving in the U.S. Army Artillery. Retired Personnel Manager of Gemtron Corp., Sweetwater. Survived by his three girls he loved most in the world, wife of 57 years, Mary Williams Atkins, twin daughters & son-in-law, Cindy Atkins, Cathy & David Winters, all of Madisonville, the grandchildren (& spouses) he was so proud of, Allen & Jennifer Winters, Madisonville, Adam & Carrie Winters, Jacksonville, Fla., Great-grandsons, Johnathan Chancellor, A.J. and Matthew Winters, Brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles & Sara Atkins, Gene & Glenda Atkins, all of Madisonville, Brother-in-law & friend, R.C. Williams & Ethel McNally, Many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Preceded in death by loving parents, Ernest & Hazel Pack Atkins, brothers, Martin, Bill and Wayne Atkins, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Bill & Ann Williams. Funeral 3 P.M. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Greg McCosh & Rev. Dennis Atkins officiating. Interment Haven Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #5156 & D.A.V. #93. Masonic service 2:45 P.M. Saturday provided by Tellico Masonic Lodge #80. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rocky Springs Baptist Church building fund or to the Gideon's. Family will receive friends 1-2:45 P.M. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
