What I have been able to find about Max and his family is nice to know about. Max and his wife, Barbara (my maternal great great grandparents) immigrated from Germany and first settled in SW Missouri, where their first child, Francis, was born. Shortly thereafter, they moved to southern DeKalb County, near Stewartsville, then finally settling on a good sized farm (which would later be split up between Francis, R.B., (second son/my great grandfather) and the youngest child, Lanie. This farm was in NW DeKalb County, approximately seven miles SE of King City. Out of their five children (Ellen died at age 17), R.B. was the only one to get married. Max was a Civil War veteran for the Union, and served for several years. I am still searching for more information and will do my best to keep this updated.
