Magdelena (Lanie) was my great grandfather R.B.'s little sister. She never married, just as all of her other siblings, except for R.B. I have found in my studies about the family, she was a hard working farmer, like her two brothers. I have come to admire her for that, because after my great grandmother, Justina, died of diabetes in 1922 at the age of 48, Lanie helped R.B. take care of everything on the farm. During the Depression, times were hard, and Lanie fought with health problems (cancer and diabetes were always a terrible blow to the Aniser family) and for whatever reason, I think she finally gave up. In 1932, at the age of 64, sne day R.B. found Lanie in the farmhouse right after she had taken her own life. I hope that she found the happiness that she had always looked for. Godspeed to you, Aunt Lanie, and to the rest of the Aniser family.
