Son of James L Alexander and Salena Holden, grandson of William Alexander and Ann Beeson Lewis, g-grandson of Daniel D. and Mary Alexander, trunk of a Pickens South Carolina Alexander family. They are my gggg-grandparents. William Abner appears on the 1870 census as a 13 year old living in Etowah County, Township 12, Range 3 South which is Warrior River Valley. By that time his father has died in the War between the States and his mother has married John Franklin Sauls, who would die two years latter and Salena would marry Brison Brothers and they would combine his family of 13 and her family of 7. Brison had previously been married to "Biddy" Harris. Not the Biddy Harris here at Moodys, but one about one generation older.
