ABERDEEN - Madgie Chandler died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, to Edmond Walker and Susie Holliday. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hebron Church. She loved her family.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 17 at New Hebron M.B. Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include five daughters, Clara Landon (Thomas) of West Point, Wilma Franklin (Lewis) of Milwaukee, Teresa Anderson, Velma Hodges and Robbie Fields (Ira "Duke"), all of Aberdeen; seven sons, Luther Chandler Jr., James Chandler, Clarance Chandler (Betty Jean), Edmond Chandler, Larry Chandler (Linda), all of Aberdeen, Bobby Chandler of Houston, Ronald Andrea Chandler of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Earnestine Brown of Aberdeen and Jackie Flouney of Nashville; 37 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Chandler Sr., and two sons, Willie J. Chandler and Bruce Chandler.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
