Funeral services will be held this week Friday afternoon at the Oak Park Lutheran Church for Ole Aasen, Sr., of Weme who passed away on Saturday morning, November 27th. Rev. G. Harold Lundgren will officiate at the last rites.
Ole Aasen was born in Nummedalen, Norway, on July 4th, 1874, the son of Ole and Ingeborg Aasen. At the age of twelve he came with his parents to America making their home on North Dakota. He remained there until in 1896 when they took a homestead in Eddy Township in Clearwater County.
At about this time he was married to Miss Bertha Hanson, who passed away in 1915.
In 1918 Mr. Aasen again went to North Dakota where he went into the implement business, which business he carried on for a period of three years.
He returned again to the Weme territory in 1921 where he was united in marriage to Ella Tenold, who is left to mourn his passing.
Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Ella (Mrs. Bennie Hanson) of Thief River Falls; Myrtle (Mrs. Christ Sund) of Kramer, North Dakota; Sarah (Mrs. Louis Vettleson) of Bremerton, Washington; Bernard Aasen of Minneapolis; Mildred (Mrs. Bennie Rude) of Bagley; Harold, James, LeRoy and Alf Aasen of Clearbrook and an adopted son, George of hatton, North Dakota. Twenty seven grandchildren; four brothers, Knute and Gilbert Aasen of Hatton, North Dakota, and Louis and Bernard Aasen of Grand Forks, North Dakota; also two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Eide and Mrs. John Mark of Hatton, North Dakota, are left to mourn his passing.
