Obituary.

Mrs. Albert Becker died at her home on Coal Creek on Sunday evening, December 15th, 1912, at 11:30 o'clock after a month of patient suffering, at the age of 58 years and 25 days.

Laura Ann Coyle was born in Elkhart county, state of Indiana on November 20th, 1854, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Coyle. She was married to Albert Becker at Mishawaka, Indiana, September 10th, 1873. To their union were born thirteen children, all of whom survive, excepting a son, James who died last February. The parents moved to a homestead on Coal Creek several years ago, where by their energy and industry they became prosperous and have remained residents of this place ever since. The decease was a Christian lady, a loving wife and mother, and she with her husband and family were among our most respected people whose hospitality was open to all. To know her was to love her. Her death saddens the hearts of many for they keenly feel the loss of a good friend and neighbor. Their home was one of the happiest in the county and many will retain pleasant memories of the visits to her home and of her kind and unselfish disposition.

Mrs. Becker had been in poor health for a number of years but her condition grew worse from year to year and in the last months nothing could relieve her of her great sufferings. But in spite of her sickness she managed frequently to attend mass and when too feeble to go she constantly had the attendance of the priest. Of her it can be truly said "She fought a good fight, she kept the faith, and died in the Lord."

A solemn Requiem High mass was held at St. Patrick's Catholic church on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock by Rev. Fr. Kramar of this parish, Fr. Smith of Blaine, Fr. Heer of Myers Valley and Fr. Fitzgerald of Irish Creek, who preached an able and eloquent sermon to the large assembly of friends and neighbors who came to pay their last respects to the deceased.

Mrs. Becker leaves a large family to mourn her departure. Besides the husband there are three daughters and a son---Florence, Ellen, Hazel and Ambrose at home, Albert, of Seneca, Bernard, of Helmer, Idaho, William of Parsons, Kansas, Lawrence, of Maryville, Kansas, Anna of Onaga, and George, Jerrie, and Mrs. Julius Jeanneret, of this vicinity. She also leaves four sisters who reside in Michigan and ten grandchildren. All her children excepting Bernard and William, were present at the funeral. Interment was given in the Coal Creek cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereft husband and family who are certainly drinking their share of bitter dregs from the cup of sorrow caused by the loss of loved ones.
Card of Thanks.

We desire to extend to our friends and neighbors our sincere thanks and appreciation fro their many expressions of sympathy and assistance in our recent bereavement in the death of our wife and mother.
