OBITUARY
Albert Becker, Sr., aged 88, died last Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Gudenkauf.
Mr. Becker was born at Mishawaka, Indiana, and came west in the year 1870. He later returned to Indiana, where he married Laura Coyl of Three Rivers, Mich., on Sept. 10, 1873. They came to Neuchatel township and settled on the farm one-half mile north of the Coal Creek Catholic church, where most of their life was spent. Mrs. Becker passed away 20 years ago.
They were the parents of 13 children, as follows: Anna, deceased; George, of Coal Creek; Albert Jr., of Seneca; Wm and James, deceased; Jerry of Vermillion; Mrs. Florence Gudenkauf, Onaga; Mrs. Alice Jeanerett, Coal Creek; Lawrence, of Topeka; Ambrose, deceased; Mrs. Ella Buening, Valley Falls; Bernard, Independence, Mo., and Mrs. Hazel Hartenstein, Little Rock, Ark.
Mr. Beckers chief interest in life was in rearing his family and devotion to farm and stock interests. He was a faithful member of the Coal Creek Catholic church and the requiem was sung from that edifice on Monday morning at 9:30 by the pastor Rev. Father Hubbard, Corning. Burial was in Coal Creek cemetery
