PINE RIVER -- Harold Hulke, 76, Pine River, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River.

He was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Courtland to Ernest and Frieda (Bruns) Hulke. He attended a country school in Courtland. He married Hazel Bernice Kargel on May 15, 1949. He was employed at Durkee Manufacturing in Pine River for 30 years and retired in the mid-1980s.

Survivors include two daughters, Joanne Orth, Pine River, and Sandra Tulenchik, Merrifield; five sons, Ralph Hulke, St. Cloud, Rod Hulke, McMinnville, Ore., and Gerald, Ted and Alan Hulke, all of Pine River; a brother, Elder Hulke, Wasilla, Ala.; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

His wife; two brothers, Wilmar and Marlin; and a sister, Norma Fehlman, died earlier.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with the Rev. Frank Milo officiating.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Northland Funeral Home in Pine River and two hours before services Friday at the church.
