Was Failing in Health a Few Years, Death Comes as a Relief to Her Long Suffering
Mrs. John Banach died at her home 3 miles northeast of Pierz, on Friday at 12:10 a.m. o'clock. She had been suffering from Cirrhosis of the liver the past four years, which is the cause given for her passing away. She was in St. Cloud hospital until about four weeks ago, where she had gone to receive medical aid. During the past few months her condition slowly grew more serious until death occurred.
The maiden name of the deceased was Catherine Begenski. She was born in Province Posen, Germany, on November 1, 1867, being near 60 years of age at the time of her death. Her marriage to John Banach took place in Blumentahl, Germany in 1891. Immediately after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Banach came to this country and settled near Avon in Stearns county. After remaining there two years they came to this county and settled in Buh town and have resided here since.
The deceased is survived by her husband and the following children Mrs. John Reding and Anthony Banach of St. Cloud, Mrs. Ben Cowles of Minneapolis, Mrs. Gust Kapsner of Lastrup, Peter Banach of Hillman and John, Andrew, Emil and Mary at home. She is also survived by two brothers Frank and Joseph Begenski who live in Germany and two sisters Mrs. John Waytashek and Mrs. John Tamalo of Pierz.
The funeral was held Monday morning at 9 o'clock with burial service in St. Joseph's church of this village. Interment was made in the Pierz village cemetery.
