Richard K. Baker, age 84, of Luther, passed away Saturday April 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born September 17, 1927 to Norman and Marion (Stapish) Baker and was a 1945 graduate of Luther High School. He was a life long farmer and served with the Osceola Sheriff Posse for the past 40 years.

He was married August 18, 1951 to June Bigelow, who passed away in 2008.

He is survived by his daughter Bernita Shanahan of Luther, one brother Ralph (Sharon) Baker of Luther. sisters Donna Kipp of Marshall, Marjorie Conner of Cave Creek, Ark., and Shirley (Edwin) Draper of Garland, Texas, and sisters-in-law Elaine Baker of Grand Rapids, and Anne Baker of Luther. He was pre-deceased by two brothers Gerald and Howard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Osceola County Sheriff Posse and envelopes are available at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home, Reed City, where friends may call Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Raurk officiating with burial at North Park Cemetery, Luther.
