Carl Mixon, 60, of 512 Smith Street, died Sunday in the Clyde Duncan Memorial Hospital, following a four months illness. A native of Treutlen County, he has resided here eight years, and was a member of the Smith Street Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Smith Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Simpson and the Rev. J. Ansley Jordan, officiating. Interment was in Pinecrest Cemetery with Murchison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: Buford Mobley, Herbert Burns, J.D. Mitchell, Lake McDonald, Larry Palmer, Billy McLeod.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Inez W. Mixon; four daughters, Mrs. Jeannine Beckum, Mrs. Barbara Burns, of Vidalia, Mrs. Judy Burns, of Lyons, and Miss Murlene Mixon, of Vidalia; one son, Warren C. Mixon, of Vidalia; four sisters, Mrs. Willie Collins, Tarrytown, Mrs. Mattie Andrews, Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Merle Humphrey, Valdosta, and Mrs. Thelma McLeod, Vidalia; one brother, Hughie Grant, Glenwood.
