Herbert C. West, 62, Yorktown, died unexpectedly Tuesday enroute to Ball Hospital. He was born in Smithville, Tenn., and had lived in Delaware County 27 years. He was a retired Warner Gear employee and was a member of the Forest Park Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Cora; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Krouse, Mrs. James French and Mrs. Donald Koons, Yorktown; six sons, Earl, Aaron, and Bill, Yorktown, Robert, Muncie, Leonard, Ridgeville, and Raymond, Eaton, Ohio; 33 grandchildren including David Storie and Mrs. Linda Terry of Muncie; two great-grandchildren; his father, Luther West, Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Otis Wagoner, Muncie; and two brothers, James, Indianapolis, and Reb, Orlando.
Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary after 2 p.m. Thursday. Services will be there at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Paul N. Vail officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
