Clarence A. Salzwedel

Clarence A. Salzwedel, 70, of 4003 N. Hamlin Ave., Chicago, a former Sheboygan resident, died Tuesday at Bethesda Hospital, Chicago, following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Montello, a son of the late Julius and Anna Kuch Salzwedel. He attended Montello schools, and came to Sheboygan in 1929.

Mr. Salzwedel was employed at Armour Leather Co. here.

On Nov. 27, 1946, he married Bernice V. Dutcher in Chicago, where he was a mechanic at Triangle Auto Service.

Survivors are his wife; two son, Raymond and Clarence, both of Sheboygan; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Herman, William and Alfred Salzwedel all of Sheboygan, and Robert Hoffman, of Kohler; and seven sisters, Mrs. Linda Pagelow, Mrs. Ella Beck, Mrs. Gladys Seigel, Mrs. Viola Wessner and Mrs. Arlene Pappas, all of Sheboygan, Mrs. Adeline Brown, of El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. Elizabeth Bradley, of Philadelphia, Pa. He was preceded in death by a son.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Kroos-Mason Funeral Home. The Rev. Ruban Grosshuesch, pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Salzwedel's name.
