Except as noted, the following information is based on the research of Linda Miller and Carolyn Jackson and was provided due to their wonderful generosity:

Born: 1767-Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland Married about 1797 to Hannah Shields, Tyrone County, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Between the years of 1798 and 1818, Robert and Hannah had 7 children, all born in Ireland. Hannah died about 1820 at the age of 51, which would have made her 49 years of age when their last child was born. Married in 1820 to Mary Porter-Brown, Tyrone County, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom Died Dec. 1, 1849, Lot 11 Con 11 Toronto Gore, Peel County, Ontario. Family lore says that when Robert passed away in December 1849, the pall bearers had to carry his casket from son David's farm to Ebenezer cemetery. It was very wet and the roads were 'not good', a distance of approx. 6 km.

Robert & Hannah's daughter Margaret, born 1800 at Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, died 23 Jun 1885 at age 85 years in Tyrone County, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Her place of burial is not known. Margaret married James Porter, who was a brother of Robert's second wife, Mary Porter Brown. Robert wanted a better life for his sons, so in 1832/1834 the family boarded a sailing vessel and sailed for Canada. His daughter Margaret, James Porter and Samuel Brown, Mary's son, remained in Ireland. No birth or death dates are known for James, and only that he died in Tyrone County, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, is known. The same is known about Samuel Brown.

Robert & Hannah's son John, born 1806 at Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, died in 1835 at age 29 years from cholera in Muddy York, Canada, and while his place of burial is not known, he is likely buried in the Nashville (Zoar Primitive Methodist) Cemetery, York County, Ontario.

Robert & Hannah's son Archibald was born in 1818 at Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Archibald and wife Lydia Marie Langley, whom he married in 1840 when he was age 22 and she was age 20, first moved north in Chinguacousy Twp. and then in 1849 moved to Proton Twp., Grey County, Ontario. After Lydia died, he remarried Mary Ann Wilson (FAG #102406489) in Mar, 1852 at age 34, and moved to Tosorontio Twp., Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada, where he died about 1865-1868 at about age 57 years. His place of burial is not known.

The following is a summary of what is written in the book, "Commemorative Biographical Record of the County of Lambton, Ontario" published 1906, but may not be completely accurate: Robert, a native of County Tyrone, brought his wife and children to Canada in 1821, locating in what was then, Muddy York, now the city of Toronto. He was a staunch Conservative and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

It is also known that Robert had two brothers, Archibald and James, both of whom were born in Tyrone County, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom and that James died before 1852 in York County, Ontario. No other details are known.
