Father was Hiram Paris Phillip Pipkin (1849-1884) who died in Waco Texas of TB while working with his brother. Mary Ellen and her three sisters were raised by their maternal grand-parents Thomas & Lue Ann Harrell who are buried in Brigance Cemetery in Crockett County Tennessee.
