Born in Girard, IL to the late Harry and Nellie (nee Etter) Stead, she was a resident of Joliet since 1960. Formerly employed by P.J. Gould as a seamstress for several years. Member of Grace United Methodist Church. A former den mother and Scout leader for Cub Scouts.
Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years, Albert L. Adams of Joliet; her son, Gary L. Adams of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gerald L. Adams; one brother, Dale (Ada Mae) Stead.
Ruby Louise Adams will Lie in State on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1718 Avalon Avenue, Joliet from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Hickok officiating.
Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her name to her church would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at: FRED C. DAMES FUNERAL HOME 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
