They moved back to Salt Lake City where he attended school, graduating from South High School in 1953. He married Louise Gale, August 18, 1978 in Provo. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1980. Gil was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed all of his church callings.
Gil worked as a security guard. After retiring, they moved to Vernal. Gil enjoyed traveling, many sports, including hunting, fishing, bowling and archery. He enjoyed telling a good story to a captive audience.
He is survived by a brother, Jerry (Sherry) Barber, Tucson, AZ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Virginia Hardinger, Vernal; Ralph and Janine Gale, Orem; Mark and Elaine Smith, Provo. He was preceded in death by his wife.
A Funeral Service will be held Sat., March 9, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Lakehills Memorial Estates, 10055 S. State St., Sandy, where friends may call 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment at 3 p.m. at Maeser Fairview Cemetery, 400 S. 300 W., Vernal.
