Mass will commence at 8 a.m., Saturday, August 16 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Brawley. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery.
He was born January 15, 1939 in Westmorland, CA and later married Olga Fernandez on March 30, 1960 in El Centro. Manuel was employed with Kershaw & Sons for 25 years before going on to work for Sahara Cooling for 15 years. He was last employed with National Beef for 6 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Pacifico Barra Jr.; father, Pacifico Barra; mother, Genoveva Barra; sisters, Lupe Barra, Alice Barra and Rosa Garcia.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Olga Barra of Brawley; daughter, Sandra Barra of Brawley; son, Manuel Barra Jr. of Brawley; grandchildren, Brian, Casey and Stephen of Brawley; great-grandson, Christopher of Brawley; sister, Rosie Rubio and brothers, John, Paul and Joe Barra, all of Brawley.
