John D. Coons
John D. (Jack) Coons, 41, former Ironwood man, died unexpectly Saturday night in his sleep at his home at 314 Syringa Drive, Lansing.
Funeral services are to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Ball-Dunn Funeral Home in Mason, near Lansing. The remains will be brought here for burial in Riverside Cemetery, with graveside services set for 2 Friday afternoon.
Mr. Coons was the son of Mrs. George F. Coons and the late Dr. Coons of Ironwood. He was born in Ironwood June 17, 1921. He was graduated from the Luther L. Wright High School in 1939 and the University of Michigan in 1945. At the University he was a member of the Choral Union for several years and also sang with the organizzation after graduation.
Surviving are his mother, who now resides at 225 E. Ash St., Mason; a sister, Mrs. J. B. Hassinen of Mason and a brother, George D. Coons of Ann Arbor.
Mr. Coons was employed at the Oldsmobile plant in Lansing for the past 15 years in production scheduling.
