Dora Dencker, age 91, died Sunday, March 5, 1978, at Little Rock, Arkansas. Dora Shroeder was born to Chris Schroeder and Dorothea Gottspenn Shroeder near Hamburg, Germany on September 23, 1886. When she was five, she came to America with her parents and younger brother, Chris. They settled in Nebraska where her brothers, Gus and Otto were born.

She was confirmed in her faith at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Columbus, Nebraska. She married Chris Dencker at Optima, Oklahoma on April 29, 1913. They lived on a farm north of Guymon until March 4, 1920 when they moved to Eva, Oklahoma.

Children born to this union were Gustav, Margaret, and Ella Margaret died in infancy.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband who died March 4, 1961, her parents and two brothers. She is survived by one brother, Otto Schroeder of Blunt, North Dakota, her son, Gus Dencker of the Eva community, her daughter , Ella Thaxton of Little Rock, Ark., four grandsons and two great granddaughters.
