SIMMONS, RUTH P. age 78, of Birmingham died February 28, 1996. She was retired from East End Hospital with 15 years of service. Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, at 11:00 a.m. from Roebuck Chapel with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Jim Elrod officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors: daughter, Dale Curry Elrod of Birmingham; sons, Kenneth Simmons, Phillip Simmons, both of Birmingham, and James Simmons of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brothers, Jack Pope of Birmingham and Sam Pope of Pahrump, Nev.; grandchildren, Bryan Simmons, Vance Simmons, Brandi Curry, Jenny Curry, Scott Simmons, Paige Snider, Morgan Simmons, and Grant Simmons. Ridout's Roebuck Chapel directing.
