A Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 for William D. Crooks, 70, of Marblehead, a retired perfume and jewelry sales executive in Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church.

Crooks, the founder of the New England Cosmetics Assn., died yesterday.

Born in Halifax, N.S., he spent most of his youth in Lynn and was graduated from Lynn English High. He had resided in Marblehead nearly 40 years.

Past president of the Mary Chess Perfume Co., he was also associated with Lentheric Perfumes and Charles of the Ritz.

An avid golfer, he was a long time member of the Tedesco Country Club and chairman of its golf committee for years. He won the club's four ball tournament on two occasions.

He was also a member of the Forager's of New York, Marblehead Lodge of Elks No. 3908, The Vermont and New Hampshire Jewelers Assns., the Marblehead Lions Club and the Vermont Chippers Assn.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Martin); a son, attorney William D., Jr., both of Marblehead; and a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Burke of Swampscott.

Arrangements are by the Landergan Funeral Home, Lynn. Interment will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
