James C. Burton, 61, of 1312 E. Lake St. died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at his residence.
Born Sept. 5, 1939, in Peoria to Jack and Martha Murphy Burton, he married Leona Forquer on Jan. 9, 1959, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Peoria; two sons, Steve and Brett, both of Peoria; one brother, Michael (and Freda) of Indiana, and one sister, Julie (and Rob) Patterson of Durango, Colo.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
He served in the Army National Guard.
He was employed by Common Equipment Co. as a manager.
He coached the McBride and Shoff Little League team in Peoria Heights for 13 years.
For many years, he was a supporter and a member of Peoria Youth Hockey Association, where he served as commissioner.
Burial will be at Christ Church Cemetery.
