Sarah Walker Cross, age 85 of Alcoa, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Blount Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 23, 1922. Sarah was a graduate of Townsend High School, Maryville College and University of Tennessee where she received her Master's Degree. She was retired from the Blount County School System. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Maryville.
Preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Mack and Elizabeth Walker; son, James D. Cross; sister, Wilma Walker Harbin; brothers, Lonas, Richard, John and Glenn Walker; sister in law, Edith Hembree Walker.
Survived by grandson, Lee Cross and wife Jennifer of Knoxville, great grandsons, Jackson and Cameron Cross; sister, Mary Innaurato of Knoxville; sisters and brothers in law, Jean and Perry Ownby Jr. of Townsend, Betty Ann and Dennis Ledden of Knoxville; brother and sister in law, Edward and Edith Walker of Maryville; brother in law, Luther Harbin Jr. of Knoxville; sisters in law, Clarice Walker of Phoenix, AZ and Jane Walker of Jacksonville, FL.; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and interment 3:00 PM Monday, June 25, 2007 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Dr.Steve Linginfelter officiating.
