DANIEL E. FRANZ
The funeral for Daniel E. Franz, 79, 309 E. Berry Street, Middlebury, who was pronounced dead soon after arrival Monday morning at Goshen General Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Middlebury United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury. The Rev. Bryant Howard will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
Memorials may be directed to the Masonic Home for Children.
Mr. Franz suffered an apparent heart attack at home before being transported to the hospital.
A lifetime resident of Middlebury, he was born August 9, 1901 in Berne, Indiana.
He was a member of Middlebury United Methodist Church and the Bristol Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, the former Teresa Roe, to whom he was married November 12, 1931, one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Gretchen) Frederick, Valparaiso; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Max (Rosa) Smoker, New Paris, Mrs. Ansel (Elma) Shaw, Burr Oak, Mich., and Miss Viola Franz, Fort Wayne.
