She did various kinds of work in Warsaw, Elkhart, and other places. In 1939 she began working for Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hesemeyer at Fort Wayne and was with them 11 years until they moved to California in 1950. Louise Hesemeyer bought the house at that time on the condition that Viola would stay with her.
Louis Hesemeyer worked for many years as a broker. Viola does grocery shopping, cooking, gardening and whatever needs to be done. In May 1986 we visited and found her busily engaged with an ax chopping an old stump to pieces! Viola is a member of the Methodist Church at Fort Wayne. Her address in 1986 was 5506 North Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN. 46825.
