Tom Brissenden of Homer Dies

Funeral services for Thomas M. Brissenden, 74, of Homer were held June 16 in Kirby Funeral Home in Homer with Rev. Arthur Scott of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Homer GAR Cemetery.
Masonic rites were conducted June 15 in the funeral home.
Mr. Brissenden died at 5:30 a.m. June 14 at the Danville Veterans Administration Hospital. Before entering the hospital, he had been in a Danville nursing home for several months.
Born Sept. 22, 1892, in Beaver City, Neb., he was a son of John and Clara Gill Brissenden. He married Bessie Thompson, who died in 1948. In 1955, he was married to Ina Strong Thompson and she survives.
Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Lillie Viskinski of Danville and Mrs. Frank (Edna) Blessing of Clay City, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Mr. Brissenden was a World War I veteran and a member of the Homer Methodist Church, Danville Consistory and Homer Masonic Lodge.
Mrs. Brissenden is a patient in Danville Care Nursing Home.
