Nila Faye McKee passed away on March 17, 2012 at age 79. Faye said her greatest accomplishments in life were her faith and her family. She accepted Christ and obeyed the Gospel when she was 14 years old. She was a life-long member of Nelson Chapel Church of Christ. She was married to Alfred McKee for 60 years and 8 months and they had seven children. Faye was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Knips and her parents, John and Laura Summey; brother, Neal Summey; sisters, Grace, Lois, and Beatrice. Her survivors include her husband, Alfred; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Debra, and Steve and Kathy; daughters and sons-in-law, Lesia and Butch Potter, Janice Potter, Elaine and Bill Yancey, Wilma Potter, and Mary Jane Elliott; 16 grandchildren, Jamie Hawkins, William McKee, Jody and Josh McKee, Tina Conner, Amanda Muniz, David Potter, Samantha Kinslow, Heather Fleenor, Joel, Danny, and Roger Hollis, Dorothy Potter, Brittany Rhodes, Josh and Glen Potter; 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family would like to thank Nelson Chapel Church, Mike McClurg, Jim and Peggy McKee for all you have done to help us during our Mothers illness. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Nelson Chapel Church of Christ with Brother Tom Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Nelson Chapel Church of Christ. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 983-1000.
