G.W. "Gilbby" Beane Jr., 81, of St. Albans, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Beane was retired from Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, with 20 years of service. He was a graduate of St. Albans High School, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a lifelong resident of St. Albans.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Meredith Shannon Beane; his son, Alfred Glen Beane of St. Albans; daughter, Rebecca Rojean Beane of St. Albans; sisters, Carolyn Ellis of St. Albans, and Grace Lowanse of West Newton, Pa.; brother, James L. Beane of St. Albans. He has two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with the Rev. David Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Teays Hill Cemetery, St. Albans.
