Landa was the first born child of James and Edna (Winded) Scroggins of Seagovile, TX. Mother of Antione of Seagovile, TX. Sister of Lisa, and twin brothers Gene and James all of Dallas County Texas. Graduate of H. Grady Spruce HS 1981. Postal worker for the United States Postal Service at Coppell Center. She had a very good sense of humor and always had a ready smile for any one she met. She always placed God first and family second and every thing else had a lower ranking. One of the biggest joys of her her life was the purchase of her own home shortly before her death. She believed that her best chance of building wealth for her only child was home ownership and education.

Yolanda was a distant cousin of the late Blues singer, Bessie Smith.

Cause of death was due to a heart attack during surgery at a local Dallas hospital.

Last rites conducted March 22, 2004 at Full Gospel Holy Temple Church (Dallas, TX). Services were arranged by Oak Cliff Furneral Chapel (Dallas, TX) and the last remains were buried.
