Mildred Nicholson, 90

Mildred Blanche Allison Nicholson, 90, of Pisgah Forest went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, Nov. 11, 2005. A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jefferson Allison and Zora Jane Ledbetter Allison. She was the step-daugher of the late Julian T. Allison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Clarence Victor Nicholson; a daughter, Vivian Galloway; two sons, Howard Pierson Nicholson and Boyce Edward Nicholson; sisters, Pauline A. McCall, Sarah Ellen Allison, Evolin Fayetta Allison and B. Evaughn Allison Huggins; brothers, Raleigh Allison and Alvin Allison; step-sisters, Rosa L. Allison Sentell, Hesse M. Allison Norwood and Perlie W. Allison Mulenex; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by three daughters, W. Blanche Nicholson McCall and husband, Calvin of Pisgah Forest; Mary Jane Bailey and husband, Loyd, of Brevard; and Betty Sue Robinson and husband, Glenn, of Pisgah Forest; two sons, Randal C. Nicholson and wife, Linda of Enumclaw, Wash; and Bruce Nicholson and wife, Helen, of Pisgah Forest; a son-in-law, Kenneth Galloway, of Brevard; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Nicholson of Hendersonville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Moody-Connoly Funeral Home with Pastors Tommy Owen and Ron Nelson and the Rev. James Kinard officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Pastor Tommy Owen Ministries of Blantyre Baptist church. Moody-Connolly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
