ALMA M. CLAUSSEN BOONE GROVE, IN Alma M. Claussen, 99, of Boone Grove, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Porter Hospital. She was born November 11, 1912 in Hebron to Charles Elza and Ora Ethel (Boyer) Coplin. Alma attended school in Hebron and graduated from Portage High School. She attended the Senior Citizens Club of Kouts. On June 13, 1934 in Kentland, she married Edwin C. Claussen, who preceded her in death on November 11, 1996. She was also preceded in death by one son, Roe Claussen; and one sister, Frances Childers. Survivors include daughter in law, Shirley Claussen of Hebron; two grandchildren: Donna (Leonard) Shaw and David (Brenda) Claussen, both of Valparaiso; one great grandson, Nathan Claussen; two step great grandsons: Christopher and Kevin Shaw; and one step great-great granddaughter, Kaitlin Shaw. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 PM at Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 E. Indiana Ave., Kouts, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Harold Jones officiating. Cremation will take place at Angelcrest Crematory with burial of ashes at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Kouts. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
