Mr. Raymond Ross Barnett, 87, of Peachtree City, Georgia, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Doctor's Hospice of Georgia in Fayetteville.

Mr. Barnett was a native of Neshoba County, MS. He served as a medic and hospital administrator in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea and retired as a Major. Mr. Barnett was employed with the Georgia Hospital Association where he served as vice-president for two years and was then employed as assistant administrator for the Georgia Baptist Hospital for ten years. He then worked as assistant administrator for the South Fulton Hospital in East Point, Georgia where he retired. Mr. Barnett was a member of Peachtree City United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Doris Dees Barnett of Peachtree City, GA; sons, Bobby Ross Barnett and his wife, Eleanor of Stone Mountain, GA, Mike Dees Barnett and his wife, Jamie of Powder Springs, GA and Denise Barnett of Fayetteville, GA; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Connie Walters of Philadelphia, MS; brother, Gerald Branning of Philadelphia, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Chris Barnett, Cody Barnett, Jeff Barnett, James Barnett, Bryan Verhoef and Scott Mann.
