Walker, John E. age 82 of Jacksonville, FL, originally of Townsend, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007.

He was born on March 3, 1925 in Townsend, TN. John was a graduate of Townsend High School and a Marine Veteran of World War II, serving from March 11, 1944 to May 3, 1946. He was a devoted member and deacon of Wesconnett Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL. Besides John's love for family and church life, he was an avid fisherman. He retired from Civil Service.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Daniel Mack & Elizabeth Walker; Sister, Wilma Walker Harbin; Brothers, Lonas and Richard Walker; Sister-in-law, Edith Hembree Walker.

Survivors include: Wife, Jane Foster Walker; Son & Daughter-in-law, John Mack & Judy Walker and grandson, Justin of Alpharetta, Georgia; Son, Jimmie Edd Walker of Jacksonville, Florida; Sisters, Mary Innaurato of Knoxville, Sara Cross of Alcoa; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Jean & Perry Ownby, Jr. of Townsend, Betty Ann & Dennis Ledden of Knoxville; Brother & Sister-in-law, Edward & Edith Walker of Maryville; Brother, Glenn Walker of Rockford; Brother-in-law, Luther Harbin, Jr. of Knoxville; Sister-in-law, Clarice Walker of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and acquaintances, both of Blount County and Jacksonville, FL.

Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Bethel Cemetery, Townsend for the graveside service and interment with nephew, Richard Walker officiating.
