"In 1904 JOHN BELSHE made a trip by train to Oklahoma to visit Tom [#71020884] and his family in Cement [, Oklahoma]. On June 17 he [John] suffered a stroke and died. He was buried in the cemetery at Laverty in Caddo. Frances Ellen [John's 2nd wife] then moved to California to live with her daughter May. [Anna May (Belshe) Curty]"
While the Belshe Family Tree book said that his body had been buried in Laverty in Caddo, it's now known by photo surveys of headstones that he was buried in Laflin Creek Cemetery in Grady County.
The Belshe Family Tree Book also documents his birth year as 1834. I don't know what resource was used to determine that date, but the 1900 US Census documented his birth month and year as "Nov 1834". The headstone's death year is, so to speak, cast in stone, but it's possible that his wife's birth year, 1833, was used inadvertently. Efforts will be made to determine the actual date.
More bio info will be added. He and his progeny led pretty interesting lives. His 3rd son, Samuel Meade Belshe, was my great grandfather.
