Selma G. "Sally" Fugleberg
1926-2008
Selma Gladys Fugleberg, 82, of Longview joined her Lord November 3, 2008 at the Hospice Care Center.
She was born March 17, 1926 in Grand Forks, ND to Lars and Elizabeth (McDonald) Nelson and graduated from a North Dakota high school.
Sally moved to the local area in 1949. She was a homemaker and worked as a dietician at St. John Medical Center from 1952 to 1955. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and an active member and volunteer at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Sally was a Seattle Mariners fan. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and watching her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She was devoted to her family.
On August 31, 1962, she married Wilmar "Bill" Fugleberg in Vancouver. He preceded her in death October 15, 1996. Also preceding her were a daughter, Cathy Thill, July 20, 2008, three brothers and a sister.
Sally is survived by a daughter, six sons and their wives, a sister and her husband, two brothers, 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with pastor Kurt Gieschen officiating. A reception will follow. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Columbia Funeral Service.
