Greenville Morning Herald, Wed, 3 May 1933, page 1, Mrs. Clark Walker Dies, SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES RECEIVED IN AUTO ACCIDENT MONTH AGO.

Injuries sustained a month ago in an automobile accident proved fatal at 1:25 o'clock this Wednesday morning to Mrs. Clark Walker, who passed away at her home on East Henry street. The accident occurred at the new underpass on Highway 1 at the Katy Railroad southwest of the city. Mrs. Walker had been in critical condition from the first, and an operation was resorted to several days ago in an unsuccessful effort to save her life.

Mrs. Walker, nee Miss Vera Mayo, was born at Knox City, Texas, April 21, 1907, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Mayo. With her parents, she moved to Hunt County in 1921. She was married on June 24, 1932 to Clark Walker, and the couple had since made this city their home.

Surviving her are her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Mayo of Tidwell; four sisters, Mrs. L.A. Womack, of Jacobia; Mrs. John W. Adams, of Hermleigh; Miss Addie Mayo, of Greenville, and Miss Mozelle Mayo of Tidwell; and five brothers, C.R. Mayo, of Greenville; Gaither Mayo, of Hermleigh; and Floyd Lloyd and Raymond Mayo, of Tidwell.

In childhood, Mrs. Walker professed Christianity and united with the Methodist Church at Knox City. She had lived a conscientious Christian life, and had endeared herself to a large circle of friends by her gracious disposition.

Funeral services will be held from the Tidwell Baptist Church at 3 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Rev. W.B. McDaniel, assisted by Rev. M.L. Hamilton and Rev. S.D. Lindsey. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery at Jacobia.
