Helen Beatrice Ashbaugh, 84, 147 N. Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, Md., died Tuesday at Hanover Hall in Hanover.
Born in Thurmont, Md., March 29, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Heatherly Knott. Her husband, George H. Ashbaugh, predeceased her October 12, 1959.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg, Md., and was a storekeeper in Emmitsburg for many years.
Surviving are four children, Harry E. Ashbaugh, Wheaton, Md.; C. Georgette Reifsnider, Keymar, Md., Ruth C. Weidner, Emmitsburg, Md.; and George H. Ashbaugh Jr., Littlestown; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday with the family meeting at Skiles Funeral Home in Emmitsburg at 9:30 a.m. to go to Trinity United Methodist Church for a Christian Burial Service at 10 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. James H. Farmer, officiating. Interment will be in the Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Ashbaugh's name to a church of the donor's choice.
