HIGH POINT – Mrs. Edna Lawson Parrish, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Edna was born February 20, 1934 in Guilford County, a daughter of the late Posey Lawson, Sr. and the late Fleta Mae Brown Lawson. She married John Mack Parrish Sr. on February 4, 1951. Mrs. Parrish was of the Baptist faith and was a proud and devoted home maker. She was dedicated to family, was a generous caring person, and was a wonderful cook. Edna enjoyed singing, dancing, and watching her cardinals and squirrels at her home. She was an inspiration to many with her courageous strength through her battle with cancer and through all of life's challenges. Edna will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mack Parrish of the home; four children, J.M. Parrish, Jr. and wife, Jan of Hudson, NC, Joy Jackson and husband, David of Trinity, NC, Kathy Bunn and husband, Richard of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Keith Parrish and wife, Ann of Winston-Salem; one sister, Brenda Myers of Trinity; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Sunday, November 27th at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point with Rev. Tim Porter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.

Memorial contributions may be to Cancer Center at High Point Regional, 607 N. Elm Street, High Point, NC 27262.
